Editorial & Source Standards

Facts on this site come from official government and agency sources first. National cost guides are cited only as labeled ranges with dates, never as local prices, and competitor pages are never used as a factual basis. Every fact-bearing page carries a verification date.

Source hierarchy

  1. Official first: government and agency sources — the issuing office, Sunshine 811, the Florida Forest Service, FDEP, FWC, and the like — for anything about permits, rules, and thresholds.
  2. National cost guides, carefully: guides such as LawnStarter, Angi, and HomeGuide are cited only as labeled national ranges with a date, to show the spread — never presented as an Ocala quote.
  3. Never competitors:other contractors’ or lead-site marketing pages are not used as a factual source.

Verification and dating

Fact-bearing pages carry a verification date and link to their sources. The current review pass is dated JUL 22 2026. Where a fact can decay — fees, thresholds, notice windows — the page points to the official source so you can confirm the current value yourself.

Claims we refuse to publish

Some phrasing is banned outright, regardless of how common it is in the trade, because it cannot be substantiated here or misrepresents an independent request site. That includes urgency and availability claims, “free” offers, blanket credential or insurance claims, and possessive crew/equipment language. We also do not invent local prices, fabricate statistics, or publish a permit number we have not verified.

Anti-fabrication policy for references

In the state-by-state permit reference, a cell publishes a specific number only when it is verified against an official source and carries a retrieval date. Where a value is not yet verified, the cell shows an accurate agency pointer marked as a directory entry rather than an invented figure. An honest, partially detailed reference is better than a fully detailed fabricated one.

AI assistance

Drafting and organization on this site may be AI-assisted. Facts are checked against the cited official sources, and the source links let you verify them independently. AI assistance does not lower the sourcing bar.
